Buyer Needs Assessment

Before you start looking at houses, try to think about the criteria you need in your new home. It may be helpful to categorize house features as "mandatory", "important" or "nice to have". The following items may be helpful to consider:

• Locations
• Settlement date
• Number of Bedrooms
• Number of Bathrooms
• Lot size
• Neighborhood requirements (parks, sidewalks, pool, tennis, HOA)
• Style of house (colonial, contemporary, Victorian, ranch, Cape Cod, ...)
• Pool
• Eat in kitchen
• Room size requirements
• Rec room/den/family room
• Garage/parking spaces
• Fireplace
• Street features (corner lot, cul-de-sac, walk to shopping, ...)
• Age of home
• Schools

(It can be even more helpful if each buyer answers these questions independently, then
compares priorities with all buyers to find the most critical needs)
